Little Fawn

Meet my newest Nephew!!!
So I took these when he was about a week old and he was born April 29th... I'm a little behind! ;)
So here is a little flash back Friday for you and it's a pretty stinkin' cute one if you ask me!!!
Blue steeling right out of the womb.
Kissing mommy already!!!
LOOK AT THOSE LIPS!!!
Snug as a bug in a rug.
I love his face here, life is just so hard already!
He wants to be held at all times, which works out when I'm around because I never want to put him
down!!!
Yes that is a cardigan of mine that I wrapped him in, the color was my favorite.
Of course I mention it at the bottom of a black and white picture...
We had to do one for his daddy on his cowboy boots with his poppy's hat.
A cowboy in the making.
There is a hint of his aunt Mia right there and it makes us happy.

Just like there had to be one for his daddy I had to do one for his mommy and I!
I think he is the cutest little forest creature I ever did see!!!

A few days later I brought my camera with me and couldn't resist taking just a few more.
"Aunt Piper, Why you wake me up? Is too bright in my eyes!"
This is what I am imagining him to say, either that or he's flirting with me! ;)
10 perfect toes.
His brother insisted on photobombing because "I want to give my wittle baby bruder a tiss."
And so he did.

Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my sisters new baby (Who looks just like HER for the record!)
We've decided we like him so much we are going to keep him and his name is Ashton.

D&G Dreaming

So it's no surprise that I've been obsessed with the Dolce & Gabanna SS14 runway look since the moment I laid eyes on it.
Who wasn't?
So when I came across this gold coin headband at a local boutique(Ollie Mae's Boutique) it was a no brainer!!!
Did I mention it was literally a FRACTION of what the originals would cost???
Not to mention smaller aka more practical to wear on an everyday basis!
I've worn it multiple times already but this is the first time I've done an OOTD with it.
I wore this lovely lace number to church and the headband just made the outfit to me!
So enough chitchat Here's how I wore my new favorite headband.

Guess who!
What you don't see is the small audience of family members that accumulated while I had Chase taking these... Here I'm letting them know how awkward I feel as everyone stares! lol
It was a cute moment and a rare blog picture where I'm actually smiling with big teeth front and center!

The ladylike length of the hem was perfect.
This little baby is my newest addition and also reminded me of D&G although this is vintage and totally drool worthy!
I bought it at a thrift store and bargained my way to a lower price, It's black lucite and in mint condition...Did I mention it's GORGEOUS?
Because it is!
The pearl anklet is brown I know and I'm sure there are going to be sticklers saying "Ew, black and brown!" This anklet was another find from Ollie Mae's and I've worn it everyday since I got it!
I love fashion and I have fun with it, I don't take it so seriously, I think that is what gives people personal style.
Wear what you like and what makes you feel pretty, it doesn't matter what others think!
You will look the best when you are comfortable and confident!
The lipstick is by MAC and it is in the shade All Fired Up.
Chase being silly and telling me to "work it" apparently this is how I work it, My Korean pop star comes out! ;)
So there you have it!
I haven't done an OOTD in what seems like forever and I've missed some really great ones!
But sometimes you have to live in the moment and not worry about taking pictures all of the time.
That being said I'll try to be better!!!
Bye my little flowers!
(Totally stole that from P'Trique if you don't know who that is youtube "her" ASAP)

Let it happen

Sometimes being spontaneous and letting things happen on their own is the best way.
Two examples of this, first, I was picking blackberries and the lighting was perfect and the sky was purple, I ran inside threw on a bridesmaids dress from one of my best friend's weddings and grabbed my camera and my cousin. (She had been wanting to practice taking pictures before getting her own camera.)
And we just went with it!
The little daisies were growing wild in the field and I had to crawl under a barbed wire fence in that dress!
It was all worth it though!
The second example of letting things fall into place was the dragonfly picture!
My dad and I were on the back porch early one morning and I was sneaking up on this dragonfly to take pictures of it.
Of course it kept flying away every time I approached, my dad stuck his pointer straight up in the air the next time the dragonfly took off, it landed perfectly on my dad's finger!
I guess the moral of the story is it's great to chase your goals and dreams but sometimes things that are meant to be, will be!

The deer was one that I spotted in a state park and because I was using a 50mm lens what you see was about my exact distance from the animal!
Basically I WAS CLOSE!!!
But this deer was pretty used to people so it wasn't all that shocking, it just made for an amazing picture in my humble opinion!!!!

Little House of Yellow

An oriental blue mat greats you at the front door of my good friends' farm house.
Anna Beth and Troy are still newly weds and they have the cutest personal style and relationship I've seen!
This is going to be a style blog but a home version!
Their guest bedroom has the cutest vintage details just like the rest of the house!
They salvaged the bed frame and Troy refurbished it himself giving this old frame new life!
It isn't the south without homegrown tomatoes!
Every nook and cranny has a special little touch thanks to Anna Beth.
Did I mention she is also a very talented photographer?
She has the cutest pictures of her and her hubby all over the house.
Everywhere you look there is a little reminder of their love for one another!
And of course here is their baby boy Finley, his photo bombing reminded me of diesel.

Gorgeous vintage doorknobs replaced her original closet pull.

Aren't they the cutest?!
A vintage license plate of every state they have ever been to together.
I must say their bathroom is my favorite!
The color of the walls plus the original claw foot tub and that fabulous mirror just make me so happy!!!
I think I could have had an entire photo shoot in that room!
Dried flowers in a mason jar?
My weakness. and I love the mix of colors that give it texture and depth.
True sweet southern style with a hint of vintage eclectic makes for the perfect decor for their newlywed home.
Hand painted cabinet doors repurposed as wall art.

The old map is a favorite piece for me and it is perfect for them as they are both teachers!
Some people have shadow boxes to keep their memories in but Anna Beth has made sure that memories are a part of their everyday life.
You instantly feel like you are a part of their world when you step through the front door!
How much cooler can this couple get?
Oh yeah, they have a record player in their kitchen!!!
And only the best albums to listen to!
Southern homes are notorious for their front porches and no true front porch is complete without a rocking chair or two.

The cutest home I ever did see!!!
They repainted the entire outside from a dark not quite mustard yellow to this pretty sunny yellow!
A house is just a house until you make it a home.

I leave you with these beautiful freshly cut daisies from the front porch of the cutest couple that live in the cutest yellow house!!!
I hope you enjoyed the visit with me!!!

I know I haven't blogged since the beginning of the month but I'm trying to adjust to this thing called life!
I'm not complaining of course, just trying to find my rhythm!
Good luck to all of you who are going through the same thing as me!!!
Don't forget to take time for yourself and also don't forget, the time is now, I'll get around to it isn't going to make things happen.
I'm saying these things for my own benefit! ;)
